Hennepin County is Hiring a Case Management Assistant Near Hennepin, MN
These positions will be performed on-site at various community sites within Hennepin County. Staff are needed to work anywhere from a few shifts a week up to 40 hours per week. Work hours are 4 p.m. – 12:30 a.m. or 12 a.m. – 8:30 a.m., as well as a mix of evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
About these position types:These are full-time, limited duration (temporary) benefit earning positions that may last up to two years.
These positions are internally classified as a Case Management Assistant.

- Support families currently experiencing homelessness who may be facing barriers due to mental health, substance abuse, socio-economic hardships, or language and are currently accessing services within the county homeless response system.
- Interact with clients face-to-face; welcoming them at entrance, providing orientation to the space, communicating expectations, answering questions, conducting room checks, monitoring site activity, and delivering meals to families.
- Maintain a clean and orderly staff workspace and supply inventory.
- Work with peers, security, other site staff, departmental colleagues, and other stakeholders to provide a safe and secure environment.
- Document all shift activities within the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
- Grow your direct service skills through ongoing training and development opportunities.
- One of the following:
- Two years or more of responsible, paid social service experience providing direct client service.
- A two-year human services certificate.
- Two years or more of college coursework in the behavioral sciences.
- Experience:
- Working directly with individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Using HMIS to perform data entry where accuracy is essential.
- Knowledge of community resources and social services available to clients.
- Ability to:
- Work effectively and communicate with individuals from a variety of cultural and lifestyle backgrounds in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as an effective team member.
- Make sound, independent judgment.
